WHAT LOWER BACK CONDITIONS DO WE TREAT?

Lower back muscle strain

Lower back muscle strain

Ever felt a sudden “pull” or ache in your lower back after lifting something heavy, exercising, or even just twisting the wrong way?

That could be a muscle strain—one of the most common causes of back pain. It happens when muscles or ligaments in your back get overstretched or torn. With proper care, it usually heals well.

herniated disc

Herniated disc (Slipped disc)

This condition happens when one of the discs between your spinal bones bulges or “slips” out of place, pressing on nearby nerves. It can cause sharp back pain, numbness, or tingling down your legs.

Many people feel this pain suddenly after bending or lifting—and it can make even simple tasks difficult.

Sciatica

Sciatica

If you’ve ever felt a shooting pain that starts in your lower back and travels down your leg, you might be dealing with sciatica.

It’s usually caused by a pinched nerve and can feel like burning, tingling, or electric shocks. It’s frustrating—but the good news is, physio can help relieve that pressure.

Spinal stenosis

Spinal stenosis

Spinal stenosis is when the space in your spine becomes too narrow, putting pressure on the nerves.

It often leads to pain, cramping, or weakness, especially when standing or walking for long periods.

It’s more common as we age and can gradually limit your ability to stay active if not managed properly.

Back injury

Back injury

Injuries to the lower back can come from falls, accidents, sports, or even poor posture over time.

Whether it’s a sudden trauma or something that’s built up gradually, back injuries often bring on pain, swelling, and limited movement—keeping you from doing the things you love.

Back arthritis

Lumbar spondylosis (Arthritis)

Arthritis in the spine—often called spondylosis or spinal osteoarthritis—is a common issue as we get older.

It causes chronic pain, stiffness, and reduced flexibility. It may feel worse in the mornings or after a long day, but with the right approach, it doesn’t have to slow you down.

Back stiffness

Back stiffness

Does your back feel tight when you wake up, or after sitting too long?

Stiffness can make bending, twisting, or standing uncomfortable. It’s often due to muscle tension, poor posture, or lack of movement—and it tends to get worse without proper stretching and strengthening.

Other back conditions

Other back conditions...

We also treat other causes of back pain like posture problems, nerve irritation, chronic tightness, and post-surgery rehab.

If you’ve been struggling with back discomfort that just won’t go away, we’re here to help you find out why—and guide you toward real relief.

Temporarily relieve the symptoms

Tired of Temporary Relief for Your Back Pain?

You’ve probably tried painkillers, massage, heat packs, or even some back stretches — and maybe they helped a little. But the pain keeps coming back.

That’s because these methods only treat the symptoms, not the cause.

How We Treat Pains Differently

At ONI Physio Fitness, we don’t chase the pain. We find and fix the root cause.

That’s how we help you get lasting results — so you don’t have to keep coming back for the same problem.

Human kinetic chain

What Is the Root Cause, Really?

Lower back pain isn’t always caused by the lower back itself.

It can be the result of:

  • Long-term muscle imbalance

  • Poor movement mechanics

Here’s an example:
A patient with lower back pain had a past ankle injury. Because of the injury, their walking pattern changed — shifting the load to the back over time.

So we didn’t just treat the back. We helped restore proper ankle strength and walking pattern, preventing the back from getting overloaded again.

ONI's root cause fixing approach

Long-Term Results,
Not Short-Term Fixes

Our goal isn’t to just make you feel better — it’s to keep you better.

By addressing the underlying cause, you don’t just relieve the pain, you break the cycle.

No more masking symptoms. No more recurring pain.

WHAT DOES OUR FIRST PHYSIOTHERAPY SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Neck assessment

Our physiotherapists will conduct a thorough assessment to determine the root cause of your pain or discomfort, such as muscle imbalances, compensation patterns, and more.

By identifying these underlying issues, our physiotherapists can create a targeted physiotherapy plan.

The assessment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Range of motion
  • Strength testing
  • Motor skill assessment
  • Movement analysis

After the assessment, our physiotherapists will apply the necessary manual treatment methods to:

  • Reduce pain
  • Release muscle tension
  • Improve joint mobility
  • Manage swelling
  • Promote tissue healing

Depending on your condition, treatment may include:

  • Myofascial release (MFR)

FAQ

A physiotherapy session will take around 45 minutes to one hour.

We are not affiliated with any insurance panels. However, we can issue a receipt and provide a letter (if necessary) for insurance claims. Please consult your insurance agent for the materials needed for your claim.

In the first session, our physiotherapists will assess your condition to identify the root cause of your problem.

They will then apply manual treatments for pain management.

Depending on your condition, we may also include rehab exercises to strengthen and/or stretch the affected areas.

Consultation is also part of the first session.

Yes! Our treatment goes beyond relieving pain; we also focus on strengthening the affected area. When the weakened part becomes stronger, it helps prevent future injuries.

No, physiotherapy and massage are not the same. While massage may be part of physiotherapy, they serve different purposes.

Physiotherapy involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating various conditions and injuries using a range of methods, such as manual release, exercise therapy, and other modalities.

In contrast, massage primarily promotes relaxation and relieves muscle tension but does not address medical conditions or injuries.

Therefore, physiotherapy is a better option for comprehensive pain and injury treatment.

At ONI Physio Fitness, we make sure to really understand your condition, your lifestyle, and what you’re aiming for.

Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, we create a treatment plan just for you and adjust it as you progress. That way, you’re always getting the care you need, when you need it.

We also focus on showing you exercises and techniques that you can use in your everyday life, so you’re not just improving in the center—you’re making lasting changes. We’ll work closely with you to find a plan that actually helps you feel better and stay better long-term.
